Pet health
Plain answers to the questions we hear most. For anything about your own pet, call us; this is general information, not a diagnosis.
Stand-in photo How often should my pet have a checkup?
Once a year for most adult dogs and cats; twice a year for seniors. Puppies and kittens come in every few weeks for their vaccine series.
Do indoor cats need vaccines?
Yes, a core set. Indoor cats still meet germs on shoes, other pets and the occasional escape. We will tailor it to your cat.
My rabbit or guinea pig’s teeth keep growing. Is that normal?
Yes, their teeth grow all their lives and can overgrow. Hay, chewing and regular checks keep them in line; we can trim them when needed.
What should my reptile eat?
It depends on the species, and diet problems are some of the most common we see in lizards. Book a nutrition visit and bring photos of the enclosure.
Why spay or neuter?
It prevents unwanted litters and can help your dog or cat live a longer, healthier life. We will talk through timing for your pet.
Is dental care really necessary?
Dental disease is common, painful and easy to miss. Regular cleanings and home care keep it from becoming serious.
